On January 23, 2016, 30-year-old Michael Blake Clark of Anniston, Alabama, was fatally shot during an altercation with his wife at the Country Court Inn on U.S. Highway 78. He was transported to Regional Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Following the incident, his stepson, Steven Taylor Cobb, was arrested and charged with murder.
