On a summer evening in Anniston, Alabama, the life of 30-year-old Anthony Marquarius Fluker was tragically cut short. On July 13, 2017, Fluker was shot on the 400 block of West 29th Street. He was rushed to a local hospital before being airlifted to UAB Hospital in Birmingham, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Known to his friends and family as 'Non Fluke,' Anthony was a graduate of Anniston High School's Class of 2006 and was employed at
the Super Value Warehouse in Anniston. He was remembered for his sense of humor and the joy he brought to those around him, often using his catchphrase, 'DO IT – FLUKE – DO IT.' His passing left a void in the lives of his wife, Donna Rena Fluker, his son, Anthony Marquarius Fluker Jr., and a large extended family of stepchildren, siblings, and other relatives.
The investigation into Fluker's death led to significant developments by October 2017. Three men were indicted in connection with the homicide: Deangelo Martez Harris, Torey Hudson, and Alfred Miller. Harris faced a direct charge for the murder of Fluker. At the time of Harris's indictment, both Hudson and Miller were already incarcerated at the Calhoun County Jail on other charges.
