On March 10, 1988, Isaiah Donald Harris, a 36-year-old deputy sheriff in Montgomery County, Alabama, was fatally shot in the head while driving to work. His vehicle was discovered on Troy Highway, near Cherry Hill Road. Investigations revealed that Harris's wife, Louise Harris, had been involved in an extramarital affair with Lorenzo McCarter. Seeking to end her marriage, Louise conspired with McCarter to have her husband killed, aiming to claim substantial life insurance benefits.
