In the winter of 2020, a life was tragically cut short in Montgomery, Alabama. Tametrius Richards, a 25-year-old male, was shot on the evening of Friday, January 17th. The incident occurred around 9:15 p.m. in the 4200 block of Mobile Highway. First responders arrived at the scene to find Richards with a life-threatening gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to a local hospital for medical attention, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The investigation into the death of Tametrius Richards pointed to a verbal altercation that tragically escalated into fatal violence. The Montgomery Police Department identified 26-year-old Anthony Stoddard of Montgomery as the primary suspect in the shooting. Following the investigation, a warrant for murder was issued for his arrest.
In early February, the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force located and apprehended Anthony Stoddard. He was taken into custody without incident and subsequently placed in the Montgomery County Detention Facility. Stoddard was officially charged with the murder of Tametrius Richards, bringing a measure of progress to a case that had left a family and community in mourning.
