On the night of April 15, 1994, a tragic event unfolded at a Popeyes restaurant in Gadsden, Alabama. As the establishment was closing, employees Nathaniel Baker, 17; Darrell Collier, 23; Tamika Collins, 18; and Bryant Archer, 17, were present. Two armed individuals, Robert Melson and Cuhuatemoc "Tempo" Peraita, entered the restaurant through the back door, which had been unlocked to allow trash disposal.
