On January 2, 2024, 9-year-old Brantley Alan Whitt and his mother, 45-year-old Brandi Howell Whitt, were fatally shot in their Gadsden, Alabama, home. Authorities responded to reports of a domestic-related shooting and discovered both victims deceased at the scene.
