In the pre-dawn hours of a summer day in the nation's capital, a life was violently cut short, leaving behind a lingering mystery. On Monday, July 23, 2007, Jonathan Lamont Silver, a male, was inside his vehicle in the 3000 block of South Dakota Avenue, Northeast. At approximately 4:15 a.m., the quiet of the early morning was shattered by the sound of gunfire. An unknown assailant shot Jonathan Lamont Silver and then fled the scene.
