On a late summer morning, the sounds of gunfire shattered the peace of a Northeast Washington, D.C. neighborhood. It was approximately 10:06 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2024, when officers in the vicinity of the 400 block of Quackenbos Street, Northeast, heard the shots. Their subsequent search led them to the 6100 block of New Hampshire Avenue, Northeast, where they discovered a man suffering from gunshot wounds.
