On January 29, 2012, Jonathan Sanchez, a 23-year-old cook at the Summit Club in Birmingham, Alabama, was among five men tragically killed in a home invasion robbery in the Ensley Highlands neighborhood. The incident occurred at a residence on the 3100 block of Avenue S, where the victims were gathered for a card game. Around 3:30 AM, Birmingham Police responded to reports of a robbery in progress and discovered the bodies of Sanchez and four others, all of whom had been shot execution-style.
