In the summer of 2013, a burst of gunfire shattered the evening calm in a Southwest Huntsville neighborhood, forever altering the lives of two teenage boys and their families. On the evening of July 15th, Robert D'Ante Hewlett, a 16-year-old male, was with another teenager when they were both struck by bullets. The violent encounter left Hewlett dead and the other teen wounded, marking another tragic instance of gun violence in the city.
