On April 11, 2014, in Montgomery, Alabama, 25-year-old Derrick Varner was fatally shot. The incident occurred around 6 p.m. on Malvern Street, with Varner's body later found in the 1700 block of South Holt Street. He was transported to Jackson Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
