Rufus Jackson, a 56-year-old man from Montgomery, Alabama, was fatally shot on July 4, 2015, in what authorities later confirmed as a homicide. Jackson's body was found in the early hours of the morning after an apparent altercation in the area. The Montgomery Police Department responded to a report of gunshots in the vicinity of Jackson's residence, and upon arrival, they discovered Jackson with multiple gunshot wounds.
