On February 2, 2020, 31-year-old Dana Keith Dale Riley of Montgomery, Alabama, was fatally shot. The Montgomery Police Department responded to the incident and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
Subsequent inquiries led to the arrest of 60-year-old Lorenzo Rainer, also a Montgomery resident. On April 17, 2020, Rainer was charged with murder in connection to Riley's death and was transported to the Montgomery County Detention Facility.
