On June 24, 2014, 27-year-old Nathan Alexander Dasher was fatally shot in Montgomery, Alabama. The incident occurred in the 2500 block of Highland Avenue, where Dasher was approached by a group intending to rob him. Among the assailants was 17-year-old Rodrick Bagby, who had a history of criminal activity.
