Officer Earl Davis of the Montgomery Police Department in Alabama lost his life in the line of duty on Sunday, June 1, 1919. The incident occurred when Officer Davis was attempting to arrest a female suspect. During this attempt, a man intervened and shot Officer Davis in the back.
