On June 18, 2017, at approximately 12:15 a.m., Montgomery police officers responded to a shooting in the 500 block of East South Boulevard. Upon arrival, they discovered 23-year-old Deunte Rogers suffering from a gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation led to the arrest of 38-year-old Frank Pollard, who was charged with Rogers' murder.
