On September 23, 2014, Doug Hutcheson, a 33-year-old driver supervisor at UPS, was fatally shot at his workplace in Birmingham, Alabama. Hutcheson, who had been with the company since 1999, was one of two supervisors killed in the incident; the other victim was 46-year-old business manager Brian Callans. The assailant, 45-year-old Kerry Joe Tesney, a recently terminated UPS employee, entered the facility wearing his uniform and opened fire before taking his own life.
