On January 14, 2021, 31-year-old Dequaris Lydel Williams was fatally shot in Birmingham, Alabama. The incident occurred around 8:48 p.m. on the 5300 block of Pinson Valley Parkway, following an argument that escalated into violence. Williams and another individual, both wounded, managed to drive to a nearby Shell gas station at 4141 Pinson Valley Parkway to seek help. Emergency responders transported them to UAB Hospital, where Williams succumbed to his injuries.
