On April 5, 2015, 39-year-old Gerry Louis Wallace was shot at 411 South Main Avenue in Sylacauga, Alabama. He was transported to the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries the following day. The Sylacauga Police Department initiated a homicide investigation into the incident.
