On January 25, 2017, at approximately 1:22 p.m., the Coosa County Sheriff's Dispatch Center received a 911 call reporting a shooting incident in the Hidden Valley area. Upon arrival, deputies found first responders from Sylacauga Ambulance and Marble Valley Fire providing medical assistance to 63-year-old Charlie Hayes, who had sustained a gunshot wound. Despite their efforts, Hayes succumbed to his injuries.
