In the early evening hours of a February weekend, the sounds of gunshots shattered the peace in the Drew Court area of Sylacauga, Alabama. Responding to the reports, officers from the Sylacauga Police Department discovered a grim scene in the front yard of a residence on Sherwood Drive. There, they found 34-year-old Devadney Sanchez Lauderdale, a male resident of the city, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
