On a Tuesday morning in Sylacauga, Alabama, the quiet of the Drew Court Housing Community was broken by a distressing discovery. On October 3, 2023, a call was placed to the Sylacauga Police Department at approximately 10:30 a.m., reporting a man lying on the ground with a gunshot wound. Responding swiftly, officers arrived at a residence on Fluker Street to find the body of 29-year-old Miles Dontae McGhee in the front yard. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
