On the evening of September 25, 2022, at approximately 8:00 p.m., authorities responded to reports of a shooting near the 100 block of Seminole Avenue in Sylacauga, Alabama. Upon arrival, they discovered 22-year-old Dontez Lamar Garrett suffering from a gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
