On the night of July 28, 2022, at approximately 10:30 p.m., deputies from the Talladega County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of a shooting in the 400 block of Pine Grove Road in Sylacauga, Alabama. Upon arrival, they discovered 22-year-old Sylacauga resident Azekiel Javon Borden unresponsive inside a vehicle, suffering from a gunshot wound. Borden was pronounced dead at the scene.
