In the summer of 2022, the life of 22-year-old Nartavius Cortez Fluker Smith was tragically cut short in Sylacauga, Alabama. On the night of July 2nd, while sitting in a car near his home, he was fatally shot multiple times. Reports indicate that two individuals were allegedly involved in the homicide.
Following an investigation by the Sylacauga Police Department, a 19-year-old from Talladega, Sheridan Rashon Clark, was arrested on July 7, 2022.
Clark was taken into custody at a Talladega apartment complex and has been charged with capital murder in connection with the death of Nartavius Cortez Fluker Smith. The case against Clark is currently pending. Authorities have indicated that they are still searching for a second suspect believed to be involved in the shooting.
Tragically, the family would face another devastating loss two years later. Nartavius's sister, Tamekia Fluker, was also killed at the same residence in Sylacauga. Investigators are exploring a possible connection between the two homicides that have deeply impacted the family and the community.
