On the evening of March 11, 2023, at approximately 7:33 p.m., Mobile Police Department officers were in the vicinity of the Quick Stop Food Mart located at 5318 Overlook Road in Mobile, Alabama. A passerby alerted them to a shooting incident at the location. Upon arrival, officers discovered 19-year-old Willie Thomas Jr. lying in the parking lot, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
