Death by Force

On November 4, 2024, at approximately 12:12 p.m., Birmingham Police Department officers responded to reports of multiple gunshots in the 1600 block of 5th Street North. Upon arrival, they discovered 20-year-old Amauria Rardrecus Caffey unresponsive on the front porch of a residence, suffering from a gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue Services pronounced him deceased at the scene.
