On July 1, 2015, the Birmingham Police Department responded to a distressing scene in the College Hills neighborhood. At approximately 9:41 p.m., officers arrived at a residence in the 1200 block of Fifth Avenue West, where they discovered the bodies of 21-year-old Alexandria Mecole Dowe and 41-year-old Christopher Charles Cooley. Both individuals had sustained fatal gunshot wounds.
