On July 20, 2015, at approximately 3:25 a.m., Birmingham police responded to a homicide in the Ensley neighborhood. Officers discovered the body of 31-year-old Paul Hicks Jr. inside a van parked at a residence on the 1300 block of 47th Street.
Investigations revealed that the shooting occurred at a different location, specifically the 1400 block of Warrior Road. A witness directed police to this secondary scene, indicating that Hicks was shot there before being found in the van.
