On March 9, 2016, in Greenville, Alabama, 31-year-old Charles Edward Curry Jr. was fatally shot in the head during a heated argument at 336 Linda Avenue. The assailant, identified as his girlfriend, 34-year-old Shantel Jalisa Boone, used a .45 caliber pistol in the incident. Curry was immediately airlifted to a Birmingham hospital but succumbed to his injuries the following morning.
