Lindsey Franklin Jones, a 33-year-old Black man from Birmingham, was found shot to death on the morning of June 20, 2016, in an overgrown area off 17th Street Southwest near Tuscaloosa Avenue and Pearson Avenue in the Oakwood Place area near West End. His body was discovered after it had apparently been there for hours, turning a quiet stretch of Southwest Birmingham into an active homicide scene.
