On April 29, 2020, at approximately 2:45 p.m., Birmingham Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting at The Devonshire Place Apartments near Center Point in east Birmingham. Upon arrival, they discovered 18-year-old Quanderius Decarlos Amison lying unresponsive in the parking lot, suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite immediate medical attention, Amison was pronounced dead at the scene by Birmingham Fire & Rescue personnel.
