On October 15, 2016, at approximately 7:29 p.m., Mobile Police Department officers responded to a report of a shooting at the intersection of 8th Street and Lincoln Boulevard in Mobile, Alabama. Upon arrival, they discovered 35-year-old Gary McCovery lying on 8th Street, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency medical services transported McCovery to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
