On the night of December 25, 2015, 43-year-old African American male Broderick Dominic Burden was fatally shot around 11 p.m. near his barbershop on Lafargue Road in Prichard, Alabama. Burden had spent much of Christmas Day providing free haircuts and giving gifts to members of the local community, including the homeless and others in need.
