On November 17, 2016, 21-year-old D'Vonte Flonnoy was fatally shot in the 5600 block of Carmichael Road in Montgomery, Alabama. The Montgomery Police Department initiated a homicide investigation following the incident.
Prior to his death, Flonnoy had been among eight individuals charged in connection with the October 2015 shooting death of 41-year-old Tracy Edwards in the 600 block of South Holt Street.
