On January 27, 2017, 43-year-old Johnathan Carstarphen was fatally shot outside The Rim Shack, an automotive business located on Wilson Avenue in Mobile, Alabama. The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. as Carstarphen was exiting his vehicle in the parking lot. Responding officers found him suffering from a gunshot wound to the back of the head; he was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
