On June 27, 2017, 28-year-old Nico Maurice Nichols was found shot to death on Dubose Street in Mobile, Alabama. The Mobile Police Department identified Nichols as the victim and initiated a homicide investigation.
Shortly after the incident, 36-year-old Leonard Gravesande turned himself in to authorities in connection with Nichols' death. He was charged with murder and taken into custody.
