On January 29, 2017, 25-year-old Le'Darius Marquis Belser was involved in a fatal altercation in Birmingham, Alabama. The incident began inside the "Handsome Brute" nightclub, where Belser and his friends, Fredreco Williams and Shawn Smith, were socializing. A minor dispute arose when Williams accidentally bumped into Danny Dewayne Adams, Jr., leading to a confrontation. Security personnel intervened, escorting Adams out of the club.
