In the winter of 2017, the life of 31-year-old De Ijiroa Yasmon Brown, a Black male, was tragically cut short on the streets of Birmingham, Alabama. On the evening of Wednesday, February 8th, gunshots shattered the calm in the city's Norwood neighborhood, and when the echoes faded, Brown had sustained fatal injuries.
