On a tragic Sunday evening in May of 2017, the life of 41-year-old Misty Sheffield Martinez was cut short in what authorities described as a carjacking gone wrong in the Bessemer area of Alabama. The incident, which took place on May 21, 2017, also left a second individual wounded. Martinez, a female, was fatally shot during the attempted robbery, a violent end to a life remembered by friends and family as that of a loving mother and wife with an outgoing personality and a great sense of humor. ...
