In the spring of 2021, the life of 21-year-old Joanne Lashay Jackson, a young mother of three-year-old twins, was tragically cut short in Bessemer, Alabama. On the evening of Wednesday, April 14, 2021, Jackson was shot outside her home and was pronounced dead at UAB Hospital at 10:10 p.m. The events that unfolded that night were the culmination of a troubled relationship that had recently ended.
