On July 11, 2017, in Huntsville, Alabama, 20-year-old Antonio Melson was fatally shot during a drug transaction. The incident occurred near the intersection of Alice Drive and Mt. Vernon Road. Officers responded to a call around 5:30 p.m. and found Melson inside a car at 3700 Blue Spring Road, suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
