In the quiet town of Greenville, Alabama, a tragic discovery was made on October 25, 2017. Twenty-two-year-old Ladarious DeVante Lymon was found deceased inside a vehicle on Airport Road, near the Lighthouse Pentecostal Church. He was not alone; beside him was another young man, 22-year-old Ja'von Banks, also a victim of fatal gunshot wounds. The Butler County Sheriff's Office, along with the Greenville Police Department and the State Bureau of Investigation, launched a double homicide
investigation into their deaths.
Born on February 17, 1995, Ladarious was a resident of Greenville. The initial investigation by law enforcement explored several leads, but a suspect in the double homicide has never been identified. The case remains unsolved, leaving a community searching for answers and a family grieving an immeasurable loss.
In an effort to bring justice for Ladarious and Ja'von, authorities have sought help from the public. In April 2018, Alabama Governor Kay Ivey announced a $5,000 reward for any information that would lead to an arrest and conviction in the case. This amount was later increased to $10,000 with a contribution from Central Alabama CrimeStoppers. Despite the passage of time and the offer of a significant reward, no arrests have been made, and the case continues to be an active investigation. The families of both young men continue to hope that someone will come forward with the information needed to solve the case.
