BIRMINGHAM, Alabama -- Authorities have identified the man killed in a weekend shooting in west Birmingham.
Israel Gervacio Velasquez, 35, of Birmingham died after the Sunday morning in the 1500 block of Bessemer Road.
When police arrived on the scene, they found a car stopped in the middle of Bessemer Road, and two people on the ground outside of the vehicle wounded by gunfire.
