In the pre-dawn hours of a Friday in late October, the quiet of a Northeast Washington, D.C. neighborhood was shattered by the sound of gunfire. On October 30, 2009, at approximately 4:29 a.m., officers from the Metropolitan Police Department's Sixth District were dispatched to Hunt Place, NE, following a report of a shooting.
