In the early evening of January 21, 2021, a burst of violence in Southeast Washington, D.C., claimed the life of 15-year-old Dayvon Lewis. A Black male, Lewis was fatally shot at approximately 7:10 p.m. in the 1300 block of Congress Street, Southeast. The Metropolitan Police Department responded to the scene following reports of gunshots in the area.
