On Halloween night in 2009, the life of James Clinton Harris, a 39-year-old African-American man, was tragically taken in Washington, D.C. The circumstances of his death would launch a homicide investigation that has continued for more than a decade.
On the evening of Saturday, October 31, 2009, at about 8:30 p.m., Mr. Harris was found in the 3700 block of 1st Street, SE. He had been stabbed to death. The Metropolitan Police Department immediately began an investigation into the homicide.
The following morning, authorities located a key piece of evidence. On Sunday, November 1, 2009, Mr.
Harris’s vehicle, a black 2002 two-door Mercedes Benz CLK320, was discovered abandoned in the 3600 block of Horner Place, SE.
Despite the discovery of the car, no arrests have ever been made in connection with the case. As of November 2009, the investigation was ongoing, but it has since gone cold. The case remains unsolved, and the Metropolitan Police Department continues to seek the public’s assistance in gathering information regarding the incident.
