On March 24, 2018, 35-year-old African American male Carnelious Richmond was shot and killed at BJ’s Lounge, a local nightclub located on Staley Avenue in Opelika, Alabama. The incident occurred shortly after 1:00 AM. Emergency responders, including Opelika Police, Fire, and EMS personnel, arrived at the scene to find Richmond suffering from multiple gunshot wounds inside the establishment.
