On October 20, 2018, Justin Jamal Mooney, a 29-year-old Black male from Mobile, Alabama, was fatally shot while visiting his mother's home on Raven Drive. Employed by the City of Mobile for over a decade in special operations, Mooney was known for his dedication and strong work ethic. He was an innocent bystander caught in a shootout between rival gang members outside his mother's residence. Two other individuals were injured in the incident, which occurred in the early hours of the morning.
