Barbara Jane Shumac, a 29-year-old woman from Venango Township, Pennsylvania, was last seen on December 16, 1982. That morning, she had an argument with her husband and was expected to help him later with cutting down a Christmas tree. However, instead of waking him as planned, Barbara left their home on Kimball Road sometime between noon and 2 p.m., leaving behind a note apologizing for making his life difficult.
